Vedder View Gardens is proud to have been selected as the site of the Legion Memorial Gardens, a designated section within the grounds of the cemetery. The Legion Memorial Gardens honours those who served and is dedicated to Canadian and allied veterans, their spouses and all active members of the Royal Canadian Legion.
The flat, park-like grounds are easily accessible from paved roads on all sides and feature concrete walkways leading to a central court that surrounds a granite cenotaph.
The Legion Memorial Gardens provide four interment options.
- In Memorium Plaque
- Cremation Burial
- Cremation Niche Wall
- Casket Burial
Ceremonies
D Day (Jun. 6) and Remembrance Day (Nov. 11) are commemorated by the laying of wreaths and the placement of the appropriate national flag at the interment space for each veteran; public attendance is welcome. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Vedder Golden Branch 280 (Chilliwack) coordinate both ceremonies.
