A double depth burial allows for two caskets to be interred in a single grave, one on top of the other. This option is often chosen by couples or close family members who wish to be buried together. It is a practical choice that conserves cemetery space and can be more economical than purchasing two separate plots. The first casket is placed at a greater depth, leaving space for the second casket to be placed above it at a later time. With both single and double depth lawn crypts, concrete vaults are preinstalled in the graves and the only additional requirement would be the open and close fee.
A single depth lawn crypt is a pre-installed outer burial container made of reinforced concrete.
